DoubleVerify announced on October 5, 2026 that its DV Rockerbox product can measure the contribution of ChatGPT Ads to customer acquisition, conversions and return on ad spend alongside other marketing channels.

What was announced

  • Attribution. DV Rockerbox measures ChatGPT Ads within the broader customer journey rather than in isolation.
  • A result. Weight Watchers used it to track ChatGPT Ads independently. Its attributed cost per acquisition was 15.3% below its established benchmark during the measurement period. Weight Watchers’ VP of growth, Jake Dmochowski, says it put ChatGPT Ads performance “into context alongside our existing investments.”
  • Brand suitability. DoubleVerify and OpenAI are developing a brand risk and suitability evaluation pilot. In a controlled testing environment, independent partners would assess whether the context of an ad matches an advertiser’s preferences, without access to private conversations.

DoubleVerify CEO Mark Zagorski: “Advertisers want to understand not just whether a new channel is performing, but the business impact it’s actually driving.”

Our read

Independent verification is what lets large advertisers spend on a new channel, so this matters. Read the numbers carefully. The benchmark was not defined and the figure is for one advertiser, measured by the vendor that sells the tool. Attribution tells you which touchpoint got credit; only a holdout test tells you what the ads added. The suitability pilot has no start date and no stated criteria, so it is a promise, not yet a control.
