In 60 seconds

  • On October 1, 2026 Contentstack launched Contentstack Canoe, which it calls its first standalone product, at ContentCon Europe in Amsterdam.
  • Canoe scans a site, drafts the questions buyers ask, runs them across AI engines and reports whether the brand appeared, how it was described and which competitors won.
  • The Free plan covers monthly runs on ChatGPT and Gemini. The Growth plan is $279 a month and covers four engines. Enterprise pricing is planned for early 2027.
  • It works with any website, not only Contentstack customers.

Impact Layer

What changed
A headless content-platform vendor launched a standalone AI-visibility product with a permanent free tier, entering a category led by specialists and suites.
Why it matters
Another vendor is giving away basic AI-visibility reporting, which pushes the category towards free monitoring and paid actions, and gives smaller teams a no-cost way to see how AI engines describe them.
Who is affected
SEO and content teams evaluating AI-visibility tools, and vendors such as Profound, Semrush and HubSpot that sell similar tracking.

Stack impact
A free tool can serve as a first baseline. Keep your own record of the questions and results, because engine answers vary between runs.

What to watch
Whether the free tier stays unlimited in practice, how the ranked fixes are judged by users, and what Enterprise includes in 2027.

On October 1, 2026, Contentstack announced Contentstack Canoe at ContentCon Europe in Amsterdam. The company, which sells a content platform, describes Canoe as an AI-visibility tool that shows brands what AI tells their buyers. It is available immediately and works with any website, whether or not the brand uses Contentstack.

How Canoe works, per Contentstack

  • It scans a brand’s website, identifies business details and competitors, drafts the questions buyers are likely to ask and tags each by buying stage.
  • It runs those questions across AI engines and reports whether the brand appeared, how the engines described it, which of up to ten named competitors appeared and which sources the engines cited.
  • Reports end with a ranked list of fixes and the sources worth pursuing. It includes an audit of readiness for AI crawlers.

Plans and prices

  • Free: $0, no credit card, no expiry. Monthly report runs on ChatGPT and Gemini, and a site audit.
  • Growth: $279 a month, or $2,790 a year at limited-time launch pricing. Daily or weekly runs, all four engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude), on-demand reports after changes, customizable buyer-journey questions, and an MCP server so AI agents can read reports and draft fixes.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing, planned for early 2027.

Chief executive Neha Sampat is quoted: “Your next customer meets an agent before they meet you, and most brands have no idea what that agent is saying.” SVP of product Conor Egan says every report ends with a ranked list of fixes.

Our read

A content-platform vendor offering a free tier is a sign that basic AI-visibility reporting is becoming a commodity, while the paid value moves to daily tracking, more engines and actions such as drafted fixes. For a team new to the topic, a free monthly report on two engines is a low-cost baseline. Keep in mind that AI answers change from run to run, so treat any report as a sample and track the same questions over time. We have not tested Canoe; the descriptions above are Contentstack’s.
