Constructor announced Agentic Checkout on October 5, 2026. It lets shoppers who use Constructor’s AI Shopping Agent or AI Product Insights Agent on a retailer’s site discover products, ask questions and pay without leaving the conversation.

What it does

  • Payment runs through Stripe: the Link by Stripe wallet or other Stripe-supported methods.
  • Retailers that already use Constructor’s agents enable it by updating the UI library and adding Stripe credentials. It is available globally, with expansion across retailers’ digital properties planned this year.

Numbers Constructor cites

40% of shoppers have used agentic shopping tools; 250 million customers use Link by Stripe; 80% of Link users used a chat-based agent in the past month. Constructor reports a 900% increase in companies deploying its agents over the past year, and “$10M+ lifts” for clients including Sephora, Petco and The Very Group. These are the company’s claims. CEO Eli Finkelshteyn: “The promise of agentic commerce is that a shopper can express what they need and AI can help them every step of the way.”

Our read

Every extra page between “I want this” and “paid” loses some shoppers, so putting payment in the chat is a logical step. It also moves risk: if an agent misunderstands a size or a delivery date, the order is placed anyway. Retailers should decide who handles refunds and fraud for agent-originated orders, make sure these orders are labelled in analytics, and begin with a small share of traffic.
