On October 20, 2026 Salesforce announced a definitive agreement to buy Braze, the New York customer engagement platform. Braze Class A holders receive $47.50 a share in cash, for an enterprise value of about $5.66 billion. The deal needs Braze shareholder approval and regulatory clearance, and closing is expected in Salesforce’s fiscal 2028, which begins February 1, 2027.
The figures
- Braze reported $738.2 million in fiscal 2026 revenue, up 24%, with about 2,770 customers, 349 of them at $500,000 or more in annual recurring revenue.
- MarTech reports the price is roughly 58% above Braze’s prior close of $30.04; PPC Land calculates about 7.7 times revenue and about 27% below Braze’s $65 IPO price in November 2021.
- J.P. Morgan advises Salesforce and Qatalyst Partners advises Braze.
Not stated
Salesforce did not say how the deal is financed, the size of the termination fee, whether Braze will remain standalone or become part of Marketing Cloud, or any customer pricing or roadmap.
Why it matters
This is our analysis. It would give Salesforce a real-time messaging engine to sit beside Marketing Cloud, Data 360 and Agentforce, and it puts one of the largest independent engagement platforms under a CRM vendor. Customers on either side should ask which system will own journey orchestration.
What happened next
The deal has not closed. It needs shareholder and regulatory approval, and Salesforce has said it expects it to close in fiscal 2028. No integration roadmap has been published.
