- They show impressions in AI Overviews, AI Mode and generative AI features in Discover, by page, country and date, with devices for Search.
- They do not show clicks or queries.
- A property-level opt-out removes a site from those features; Google says it is not a ranking signal and does not affect AI training.

Google completed a worldwide rollout of generative AI performance reports in Search Console on August 31, 2026, following a phased launch that began in June, according to Search Engine Journal.
What the reports show
- Impressions from AI Overviews, AI Mode and generative AI features in Discover.
- Breakdowns by page, country and date, with device breakdowns in the Search reports.
- No click-through data and no queries.
Help pages indicate the rollout is still incomplete, and sites without enough AI impressions may not see a report.
The opt-out
A Search generative AI control, set per property in Settings, excludes a site’s content from the same three surfaces. Google says it is not used as a ranking signal and does not affect AI training, which is governed by separate controls. Using it brings no benefit for clicks: pages simply disappear from the features. An update on October 6 added documentation on how child properties override a parent’s setting.
Regulatory context
The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority required this functionality. Google must implement page-level controls by March 2027 and provide click data, with compliance reports every six months at first.
Our read
An impression count is a start, and it is the first first-party number for AI visibility. Without clicks it cannot say whether appearing in an AI answer sends visitors. Record a baseline of impressions by page now, so that when click data arrives you can compare. Opting out removes you from AI answers altogether, so it is a decision about visibility, not a way to protect rankings.
