AI & Agents

Salesforce puts AI agents to work across the marketing funnel

Developing

The new agents are pitched as team members that act, not assistants that wait for a prompt. Two are generally available; two are still pilots.

In 60 seconds

  • Salesforce announced AI marketing agents on June 3, 2026, covering pipeline building, content creation and campaign execution.
  • Piper (an AI sales development agent from Qualified) and Hunter (a prospecting agent) are generally available.
  • Agentforce Content Agent and Marketing Goals Agent are in pilot.
  • Campaign management inside Slack, using MCP tools, became generally available in June 2026. Pricing was not stated.

Impact Layer

What changed
Salesforce introduced a set of AI agents for marketing and sales-development work: two generally available, two in pilot, plus campaign management from inside Slack.
Why it matters
It moves Salesforce's agent strategy from service and sales into the marketing team's daily work, built on the same customer data and agent platform marketers already license.
Who is affected
Marketing operations leads and demand-generation teams at companies that already run Salesforce; also teams evaluating standalone AI SDR tools.

Stack impact
Agents sit on top of Salesforce's customer data platform and Agentforce, so data quality and consent settings in the CDP decide what they can do. Slack becomes a control surface for campaigns.
Business impact
High Pricing for the marketing agents was not stated in the announcement, so total cost cannot be assessed yet.

What to watch
General availability dates for the two pilot agents, pricing, and independent customer results beyond those Salesforce quotes.

On June 3, 2026, Salesforce announced a group of AI agents for marketing teams. The company’s framing is that these agents help marketers build pipeline, create content and run campaigns, rather than waiting for a person to prompt them. The announcement calls the offer Agentforce Marketing and names Eric Zenz, senior vice president of product management for it, among the Salesforce executives involved.

What is available, and what is not

  • Piper, an AI sales development agent from Qualified, is generally available.
  • Hunter, a prospecting agent, is generally available.
  • Agentforce Content Agent and Marketing Goals Agent are pilots.
  • Campaign management in Slack, using MCP tools, became generally available in June 2026.

Salesforce says the agents are built on its customer data platform and on Agentforce, its agent framework. It did not state pricing in the announcement.

The numbers Salesforce uses to make the case

The announcement leans on statistics: 86% say AI has fundamentally changed customer engagement, 78% say they need more personalized content than their teams can produce, and 64% say they struggle to keep pace. These are Salesforce’s figures and the announcement does not set out the underlying research, so treat them as context, not as independent evidence.

Two customer results are also cited. Salesforce says Rawlings created campaigns 75% faster, and that Emplifi reduced the number of reps who qualify leads by 20% while raising opportunity creation by 22%. Both are vendor-reported outcomes from named customers.

Our read

The interesting part is less the individual agents than where they live. Because they run on the CDP and the same agent platform as Salesforce’s service and sales agents, a marketer who already has clean, consented customer data gets a short path to automation, and one who does not will find the agents only as good as the data underneath. The Slack integration also matters: it puts campaign actions where teams already coordinate, which makes governance (who can ask an agent to launch what) a practical question, not a theoretical one.

The open questions are cost and proof. With two agents still in pilot and no pricing, buyers should ask for both before building plans around them.
