  • On June 24, 2026 Salesforce announced general availability of Agentforce Commerce agents: Shopper, B2B Buyer and Merchant.
  • They run on Salesforce B2C Commerce and B2B Commerce, alongside Storefront Next, Agentic Order Management and a unified catalog.
  • ChatGPT and Google Search AI Mode and Gemini app integrations were scheduled for July and the summer.
  • Salesforce says retailers using shopper agents grew sales 59% faster than competitors; that is its own claim.

Impact Layer

What changed
Salesforce moved commerce agents from announcement to general availability, ahead of the 2026 peak season.
Why it matters
Retailers can put an agent on their own storefront, in B2B channels and in back-office work, and plan for shoppers arriving through AI assistants.
Who is affected
Retail and B2B commerce teams on Salesforce Commerce, and their agencies and integrators.

Stack impact
The agents run only on Salesforce commerce products, so adoption depends on platform choice. Check catalog data quality first, because agents depend on it.

What to watch
Whether the ChatGPT and Google integrations ship on time, and independent results from retailers before peak season.

On June 24, 2026, Salesforce announced a large Agentforce Commerce release. It says three agents are generally available now.

What is available

  • Shopper Agent carries a customer conversation from discovery through checkout and into service on the retailer’s own storefront.
  • B2B Buyer Agent handles procurement in the channels buyers already use, such as WhatsApp and SMS.
  • Merchant Agent gives operations teams natural-language controls for running a storefront.
  • Also generally available: Storefront Next (Salesforce says it deploys in 30 minutes), Agentic Order Management, a Visual Merchandising Workspace, a unified catalog across channels and a point-of-sale app for iOS.

The agents run only on Salesforce B2C Commerce and B2B Commerce.

Coming later

Agentic Commerce Search and a ChatGPT integration were scheduled for July 2026. Integrations with Google Search, including AI Mode, and the Gemini app were listed for summer, and Android and Windows point-of-sale for August. Partners named include Stripe, Adyen, Amplience, Google and Forter.

Salesforce’s claims

Salesforce says retailers deploying shopper agents grew sales 59% faster than competitors, that AI-referred traffic converts at eight times the rate of social media, and that AI influenced 20% of global online sales last holiday season, about $262 billion. The announcement we read does not explain how these were measured.

Our read

General availability matters because merchants can now test agents before peak season. The practical risk is in the data: an agent that answers from a poor catalog gives poor answers. Start with a narrow use such as order status or returns, measure resolution and conversion against a control, and treat the vendor’s growth figures as a reason to test, not as an expectation.
