Impact Layer

What changed
Salesforce is offering its CRM through other companies' AI interfaces instead of expecting people to open the CRM.
Why it matters
If work moves into chat and agent tools, the CRM's value shifts from the screen to the data, permissions and workflows beneath it.

What to watch
Beta feedback on Salesforce in Claude, pricing, and whether analytics, service, marketing and commerce skills arrive as promised.

At Dreamforce on September 15, 2026, Salesforce announced AIforce. SalesforceBen describes it as a new interface layer that brings Salesforce data, workflows, permissions and governance into the AI tools people already use, so work happens in Claude, Slack or Lightning instead of the CRM’s own screens.

The parts

  • Claudeforce. Salesforce inside Claude as a prebuilt MCP server with 37 prebuilt sales skills. The Claude Code Salesforce Development plug-in offers more than 40 skills. Salesforce in Claude is in beta for all customers, with analytics, service, marketing and commerce capabilities described as coming.
  • Slackforce. Surfaces that show live Salesforce context in Slack conversations and let people create accounts, log notes and update records by prompt. Slack CRM connects conversations to Salesforce records.
  • Agentforce Coworker. An AI teammate in the Lightning interface that works within existing permissions and business rules, with zero external data retention, per the summary. It is available to customers now.

CX Today quotes co-founder Parker Harris: “You may never log in to Salesforce again.”

Our read

The strategic message is that the CRM becomes the governed layer under whichever AI tool a person prefers. That is good news for teams that do not want staff living in forms, and it moves the security question to the connector: which data a chat client can read or change, and how those actions are logged. HubSpot made a similar argument the same month with its Smart CRM that captures calls, emails and meetings automatically.

Much of this is beta or rolling out, so judge it on your own pilot. We read a trade-press summary of the announcement, not Salesforce’s own pages.
