Early results are Five9's own, from an early rollout it does not name.

In 60 seconds
- On June 23, 2026 at Customer Contact Week, Five9 launched a new release of its Voice AI Agents, aimed at replacing scripted bots and legacy IVR.
- They run on Genius AI, an execution layer, with secure tool calling to authenticate customers, update records or process transactions.
- AI Agent Studio is a unified environment for building, testing, deploying and monitoring them.
- Five9 says an early rollout beat containment targets and cut handle times, and that agents should handle more than 100,000 service calls by year end.
Impact Layer
- What changed
- A large contact-centre vendor positioned voice AI agents as a native part of its platform, not an add-on.
- Why it matters
- It signals that IVR replacement is becoming a standard product, with tooling to test and monitor agents before they take real calls.
- Who is affected
- Contact centre and CX leaders, especially those with legacy IVR.
- Martech stack area
- AI, Customer Experience
- Stack impact
- Ask for containment measured by resolution rather than by calls that merely ended, and ask how agents are tested before launch.
- Business impact
- Moderate Details come from trade summaries and search results of the announcement; Five9's page was not read directly. No figures beyond the 100,000-calls expectation were given.

Five9 launched a new release of its Voice AI Agents on June 23, 2026 at Customer Contact Week in Las Vegas. The summaries we could read are from search results and trade coverage, because the pages blocked direct access.
What was announced
- Platform-native Voice AI Agents, described as the next generation of agentic self-service, powered by a new execution layer called Genius AI.
- Secure tool calling, so agents can connect to enterprise systems to authenticate customers, update records, process transactions or complete service tasks in real time.
- AI Agent Studio, a unified environment for building, testing, deploying and monitoring Voice AI Agents.
Results claimed
Five9 says an early rollout exceeded containment targets, reduced handle times and delivered more consistent, human-like interactions. By year end, Five9 expects its Voice AI Agents to handle more than 100,000 service calls. No customer is named in the summaries we read.
Our read
The category is moving from “bot in front of the IVR” to an agent that can act on records. That raises the bar for testing, which is why a studio that tests and monitors agents is notable. Ask for containment measured by resolution, not by calls that simply ended, and check the early-rollout claim against a reference customer. We have not read Five9’s own release.
