In 60 seconds

  • A new "Text customization asset previews" section lets advertisers see up to 10 example headlines and descriptions generated by Google AI for a final URL, without opting in.
  • Examples are mostly generated in under 30 seconds and are available in eight languages; text guidelines filter the previews.
  • Four new AI Max columns appear in reporting: Brand Inclusions, Locations of interest, Commission and Optimized targeting.
  • Hana Kobzova of PPC News Feed and Vivek Gupta first spotted them.

Two small Google Ads updates for AI Max were reported by Search Engine Roundtable in the second week of October 2026.

Text asset previews (October 9)

  • A new “Text customization asset previews” section of the help page lets advertisers preview sample text assets generated by Google AI for AI Max campaigns.
  • Google AI generates up to 10 example headlines and descriptions when a final landing page URL is provided. Opting in is not required to view them.
  • If no final URL is prefilled, enter a URL and select “Preview examples”. Examples are mostly generated in under 30 seconds.
  • Languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Japanese and Dutch.
  • If text guidelines such as excluded words or themes are set, the preview filters assets to match them; if the rules block every asset, advertisers are prompted to adjust them.

New columns (October 8)

Four AI Max-related columns appeared in reporting: Brand Inclusions, Locations of interest, Commission and Optimized targeting. Vivek Gupta noticed them and posted on LinkedIn; the article shows them in a screenshot but does not define them.

Our read

Previews address a real worry, which is machine-written copy going live unseen. Use them to set text guidelines before opting in, and check the new columns once Google documents them.
