Netflix published its Q3 2026 shareholder letter on October 20, 2026. It lowered its 2026 ad revenue expectation to about $2.7 billion from roughly $3 billion, reflecting a “slightly slower than expected rollout of some ad product capabilities”. Co-CEO Greg Peters said Netflix is still “growing, our ads business over 80% this year” and attributed the shortfall to delays in the rollout and partner integrations, not weak demand.
Other figures
- Q3 revenue of $12.87 billion, up 11.8%, with a 34.6% operating margin; full-year revenue guidance of $51.1 billion.
- The ad plan will launch in 12 of 15 new countries in March 2027.
The same day
Netflix and The Trade Desk announced that Kokai buyers can target Netflix ads with third-party or first-party data from November, and that Netflix expanded its Conversion API to more than 20 events.
Why it matters
This is our analysis. Building an ad business on outside partners takes longer than announced. Buyers should not assume every capability shown at an upfront is live when they plan a campaign.
What happened next
Netflix said 2027 guidance will come in January, and the March 2027 ad plan launch is the next milestone. It did not say which integrations slipped.
