On April 28, 2026, Adobe announced that it had completed its acquisition of Semrush, the search and brand-visibility software company.
What Adobe said
- Semrush will be united with Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe LLM Optimizer, Adobe Commerce, Adobe Experience Platform and its apps, and Adobe Brand Concierge.
- Semrush has more than 28 million users and keeps its brand.
- Adobe cited its own data that AI traffic to US retail sites rose 269% year over year.
The price
Adobe’s announcement does not state a price. Coverage of Semrush’s filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission puts it at about $12 a share, or around $1.9 billion in total.
Why it matters
It joined a large SEO and search-intelligence data set to an enterprise content, commerce and customer-data suite, tying brand visibility in AI answers to the systems that produce and deliver content. For independent SEO tool buyers, it raises the question of how neutral a Semrush owned by Adobe will be.
What happened next
Integration with Adobe's products was planned after closing; pricing and packaging changes for existing Semrush customers had not been announced in the sources we reviewed.
