Google describes Search Console as a set of tools and reports for measuring your site’s Search traffic and performance, fixing issues and improving how your site appears in Google Search results.

What Google lists

  • Search Analytics: which queries bring users to a site, with impressions, clicks and position.
  • Sitemaps and URL submission, and index coverage review.
  • Issue alerts by email, with affected URLs, and a way to mark issues as fixed.
  • URL Inspection: crawl, index and serving information taken from the Google index.
  • Optimisation reports for AMP pages, Core Web Vitals and rich results from structured data.

Recent additions

In June 2026 Google announced Search Console reports on impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode, and a control to opt a site out of those features (see the timeline entry). The control is listed among seven ways to keep content out of Search on Google’s “Control what you share” page, updated October 21, 2026.
