CEO, Twilio
Khozema Shipchandler is the chief executive of Twilio. On January 8, 2024, Twilio announced that he would succeed co-founder Jeff Lawson, who stepped down as chief executive and as chairman of the board.
What the sources say
- Customer Experience Dive describes him as a longtime Twilio executive.
- The change followed pressure from two activist investors who wanted operational improvements; Twilio had restructured several times and cut about 5% of its workforce in December 2023, mainly in its data and applications division, the same report says.
- Under his leadership Twilio continues to own Segment, the customer data platform it bought in 2020.
